Global smartphone sales Android phones grow to 84.7%


#iPhones’ market share has dropped to just 11.7%, #Android phones grow to 84.7%

As per report by market tracker #IDC Android based phone sales were up 33% in the past year which reached at 255 million units, and accounted for 84.7% of all global #smartphone sales in the March-June period.

"With many of its (manufacturing) partners focusing on the sub-$200 segments, Android has been reaping huge gains within emerging markets," says Ramon Llamas, research manager at IDC.

As per report from recode, Twitter is mulling plans to buy the German-based music-sharing service SoundCloud to fuel growth at the social network. The company is considering a deal to acquire SoundCloud, the music and audio-sharing company, according to people familiar with both companies.
